Time travel is easy, getting home is the hard part.
Annie and her friends are used to harsh conditions, but a Victorian winter still comes as a shock. They have a job to do, but it isn’t long before they stumble upon a corpse buried in the snow, and a new mystery to solve.
This is an interesting short story. It opens with three travellers appearing through a tunnel that opens into a clearing in winter-time Victorian England. It soon becomes apparent that they’re looking for somebody, and tripping over a corpse doesn’t improve their outlook. At least, initially.
I wish there were a few more answers in the narrative, but overall this story is well-written and vivid.
